Star Gate Maze: one orb, one life, thirty-six mazes
Collect every target, wait for the gate to glow, and do not touch an active hazard. How the waves, hazards and scoring work — and how to stay alive.
Star Gate Maze gives you a glowing orb, a neon labyrinth and exactly one life. Collect the targets on the floor, wait for the star gate to turn green and slide through. Touch an active hazard and the run is over. Play it in your browser or on Android.
How a maze works
Each maze is an 11 × 15 grid and the orb moves one cell at a time, so every step is readable. The HUD shows the level and its family name, your single heart, the elapsed time and the targets still on the floor. There is no countdown — the pressure comes from the hazards, not the clock.
Three waves, rising demands
Twelve maze families — from Star Garden and Amber Coils to Nemesis Grid and Final Gate — each appear three times:
- Wave I asks only for stars.
- Wave II adds cyan gems.
- Wave III adds violet relics.
By the third wave you need one route that covers every target type.
Four hazards, each with a safe window
- Pink imps patrol and pause between steps — let them wander off, then pass.
- Wall flames burst on a rhythm — cross on the quiet beat.
- Vortices fade in and out — go while they are faint.
- Sonic bursts pulse onto a tile and switch off — move in the gap.
When a hazard catches you, the result screen says what it was and gives a tip for next time.
Scoring
Stars are worth 100, gems 250 and relics 500, and optional extras still count. Your campaign total is the sum of your best score on every maze, so replaying an old maze can still raise your rank on the leaderboard.
Staying alive
- Read the HUD before your first move.
- Sweep the far side of the maze first and finish near the gate.
- Count a flame's beat twice before crossing.
- Save boost (hold the star in the D-pad, or Shift) for long straight corridors; it drains stamina that refills when you let go.
- Drag the D-pad to any corner so your thumb never hides the maze.
You can also tap a cell next to the orb or use the arrow keys or WASD. See the families on the Star Gate Maze page, or enter the first maze.
