Aremon Backup: solving puzzles with your own echoes

In Aremon Backup your last run becomes a helper. How Create Backup works, what the three Archive Seals reward, and the controls on touch and keyboard.

Most puzzle games give you a character. Aremon Backup gives you a character and up to three copies of your own past. You play Nia, a keeper of the Living Vault, and the puzzles are built around one ability: Create Backup. Play it in your browser or on Android.

The idea in one paragraph

Walk through a chamber and press Backup. Time snaps back to the entrance, and the run you just made becomes a cyan Echo that repeats every one of your moves. Now you play alongside it. One Echo can stand on a switch while you walk through the door it holds open; another can draw a Guardian away. Stack up to three, then carry the Aremon Core to the Extraction Gate.

Echoes replay on a fixed timestep, so the same recording always follows the same path. If a plan goes wrong, Rewind drops the newest Echo and you try that part again.

Four chapters, twenty-four missions

  • Seed Vault teaches the first Echo and holding latches.
  • Prism Foundry adds dual switches and reflective corridors.
  • Storm Archive brings wind lanes and flying Guardians.
  • Zero Hour adds flip zones and armoured watchers as the final seals open.

Three seals per mission

Each clear can earn up to three Archive Seals:

  1. Efficiency — use few backups.
  2. Precision — escape detection.
  3. Flow — finish inside the chapter's time goal.

The Chronicle Obelisk leaderboard ranks fewer backups above raw speed, so a clean plan beats a frantic one.

Controls

On touch, drag the soft stick on the left and tap Backup or Interact on the right. On a keyboard: WASD or arrows to move, R to create a backup, Backspace to rewind the newest Echo, Space to interact, Escape to pause. Reduced motion is available in the Memory Lantern settings.

How to think about a chamber

  • Do a scouting run first: find the switches, the core and the Guardians' routes before you record anything that matters.
  • Record the Echo that has the longest job first, such as holding a far switch, and play the short jobs live.
  • If you need three Echoes, ask whether the Efficiency seal is still possible with two.

The home screen is part of the world: Mission Gate starts a run, Archive Map shows your path and Aremon Habitat shows the companions you have rescued. More on the Aremon Backup page, or try the first chamber now.
