Can You Spot: four ways to find the odd tile faster

One tile in the grid is different. Here is how Classic Climb, Speed Spot, Shade Lab and Zen Spot each test your eyes — and a tip for every mode.

Can You Spot is a short-session reflex puzzle set in Eye Lab, a violet workbench under a warm spotlight. A grid of glowing tiles appears; exactly one of them does not belong. Tap it before the clock runs out. Play it in your browser or on Android — no account needed.

The rule

Each round hides a single outlier, and the grid grows as you climb. A wrong tap ends the run, and so does letting the clock reach zero (except in Zen). Your score is the number of levels you cleared, and each mode keeps its own record on your device.

Four modes, four kinds of looking

Classic Climb — ten-second rounds. The first fifty-two levels use glyph pairs: two marks that look alike until you really look. After that, the tray turns into close RGB shades, where the odd tile differs only by a shrinking colour offset. Tip: trust the first tile that feels off instead of circling the tray twice.

Speed Spot — five-second rounds, glyphs only, and each clear is worth double. There is no time to check every cell. Tip: look at silhouettes, not details.

Shade Lab — seven-and-a-half-second rounds, colour only. The grid grows more slowly than in Classic, but there are no shapes to lean on. Tip: compare neighbouring tiles instead of staring at one.

Zen Spot — no clock, three lives. A miss costs a life, not the run, and rounds mix glyphs with some colour. Tip: spend lives on the colour rounds and use the glyph rounds to recover.

Collecting pairs

The Collection cabinet unlocks each glyph pair the first time it appears in a level and keeps it across sessions. Sixty-six pairs live in the catalogue, so the shelves fill as you play.

Small things that help

  • Play in good light and turn your screen brightness up for Shade rounds.
  • Hold the device at a comfortable distance; leaning in close makes it harder to see the whole grid.
  • If you are stuck on a level, try Zen first — it is the same tray without the pressure.

The home hub is the lab itself, with plaques for Modes, Collection, How to play, a local Leaderboard, Contact and Settings, and a gem orb for eight languages. More on the Can You Spot page, or start climbing.
