Vapor Raid
Dual-axis neon sky combat
Dual-axis neon shmup — eight vapor belts, Endless remix, weapon chips, and Relic Beacon bosses. Portrait fires up; landscape fires right.

Vapor Raid is a dual-axis neon shoot-em-up set in vapor belts of dusk sky. You are an ace pilot hunting Relic Beacons of the Sky Cult. The canvas playfield fills the entire viewport on phone, tablet, and desktop — there is no rotate-device gate and no letterboxed play area.
Dual-axis flight
In portrait, your ship sits at the bottom and fires upward. In landscape, you sit on the left and fire to the right. One codebase maps movement to forward and strafe axes so the same runs feel natural in either orientation. Drag on the player-side half of the screen or use a virtual stick; keyboard WASD or arrows also work. Auto-fire keeps bolts streaming along the forward axis while you focus on reading patterns.
Campaign belts
Eight vapor belts unlock as you clear them: Dusk Port, Acid Cirrus, Mirror Fog, Solar Spine, Neon Reef, Storm Needle, Void Harbor, and Cult Apex. Each belt carries its own hazard palette — acid rain, flare lanes, mirror fog, and denser bullet weaves. Mid-belt mini-bosses interrupt the cruise; end-of-belt Relic Beacon bosses run multi-phase fights that demand bomb timing and hyper bursts.
Combat systems
Manage hull HP, bombs, and a hyper meter. Collect weapon chips to shift your kit into Spread, Laser lance, Homing mites, or Heavy slug. Options (twin satellites) unlock mid-campaign for extra coverage. Pickups include shield, magnet, and score multipliers. Bomb orbs clear local pressure; Hyper orbs dump meter for a screen-clearing burst when the pattern spikes.
Endless vapor
After learning the belts, Endless remixes the enemy pool with rising speed. It is built for short high-score sessions once campaign controls feel automatic. Local leaderboard entries use your hangar nickname so rival scores stay on-device until platform leaderboards are enabled.
Hangar world UI
The hub is a hangar and sky deck, not a settings-app checklist. Hotspots lead to Play, Belts, Endless, Hangar loadout, How to play, Settings, Leaderboard, and Contact. Cockpit HUD shows score, belt, hyper, and hull with neon glass panels, action orbs for bomb and hyper, vignette, and light scanlines. Portrait and landscape layouts keep hits readable.
Readable challenge
Enemy fire uses sprite-atlas bullets — dots, rings, blades, lances — so patterns stay legible at phone scale. Scout drones, weave drones, gunboats, shield carriers, kamikazes, floating turrets, swarm bits, and elite prisms each have dedicated atlases. Fair difficulty comes from denser formations and faster belts, not invisible one-shots.
Who it is for
Players who want classic shmup craft with modern dual-axis comfort, neon vapor aesthetics, and original art. Music and sound toggle in Settings for quiet sessions. Ads on mobile builds follow the platform cadence and do not interrupt mid-boss phases when configured for this project.
Start in the hangar, pick an unlocked belt, and raid until the beacon falls. Learn each hazard palette, bank bombs for phase transitions, spend hyper when the screen floods, and chase Endless scores when the campaign feels sharp. Short belt runs make progress easy without long grinds — clear one corridor, unlock the next neon dusk, and keep the Sky Cult on the back foot.
