Tide Defense

Tower defense on a living shoreline

Tide Defense is a coastal tower defense where the shoreline itself is part of the fight. You guard a bay lighthouse while a tide clock cycles low, rising, high, and falling about every forty seconds. At low and falling tide you place towers on sand and exposed rock. At high tide the mid-shore floods, so new builds stop on submerged pads while towers already planted keep firing. Buoy Beacons float on water tiles and gain extra range when the water is high, rewarding players who plan around the clock instead of fighting it. Five coastal towers cover different jobs. Harpoon Pier punches single targets on the path. Net Casters slow groups of shore crabs so splash and pierce can finish them. Salt Mortar drops area damage on clustered waves. Fog Horn stuns diving gulls that ignore ground pathing. Buoy Beacon anchors the high-tide line and buffs nearby reach when the bay fills. Each tower upgrades with scrap earned from kills and tide bonuses, and you can sell for a partial refund when a pad stops being useful. Enemies respect the water. Shore crabs push hard on dry sand. Skiffs prefer flooded corridors and punish lazy anti-water coverage. Diving gulls demand anti-air and punish players w

Diving gulls demand anti-air and punish players who only build for ground lanes. Stages run ten waves with rising pressure, scrap economy, lighthouse hit points, and star ratings based on how healthy the beacon survives the final push. Quiet Cove teaches the tide meter slowly. Coral Shelf splits paths on the rising phase. Storm Jetty packs gull waves. Wreck Harbor shortens vision with fog. Beacon Atoll closes with a boss skiff that tests your full kit. Between battles the hub stays in the night-bay world: continue into the next stage, open the stage map, check season and all-time leaderboards, read help, adjust settings, or send contact mail. Eight languages ship in the dictionary. The canvas fills the viewport in portrait and landscape without letterboxing. Music and sound toggle independently, and platform back returns through in-app screens instead of dumping the WebView. Tide Defense is built for players who like reading a living map. The tide meter is not decoration — it opens and closes build pads, redirects enemy preference, and changes which towers matter for the next thirty seconds. Learning to bank scrap before high tide, leave buoy coverage on the deep line, and keep Fog Horn ready for gull pulses is the skill curve. Clear stages for stars, unlock the next bay theme, and climb the boards when you want a measured score run. Play offline for the campaign loop; season and all-time boards plus contact need a network connection to the shared Tyttoot platform API. No account is required to start defending the lighthouse. Whether you are learning the Quiet Cove tutorial waves or holding Beacon Atoll under a boss skiff, the same tide clock, tower set, and bay art direction stay consistent from splash through victory. This listing describes the shipped Tide Defense experience: tide-shifting paths, five upgradeable coastal towers, mixed crab skiff and gull pressure, five themed stages, star unlocks, bilingual-ready UI across eight languages, leaderboards, help, settings, and contact — all on a full-viewport canvas tuned for phones and desktops.

Controls stay simple on purpose: tap an empty build pad to place the selected tower, tap a tower for upgrade or sell, and use the HUD tide meter to time your next placement. Pause freezes the sim when you need a breath. There are no HTML menus for combat — everything is drawn on the same canvas as the bay so the night pier, lighthouse beam, and water bands never leave the scene.

If you enjoy tower defense that changes the board under your feet instead of only sending denser waves, Tide Defense is aimed at that niche. The high-tide flood is a temporary rule change, not a soft difficulty slider, and recovering from a bad high-tide plan is part of the fun.

What's new

Version 1.0.4 refreshes Tide Defense App Store and gallery marketing to match the shipped night-bay canvas. New icon shows the lighthouse and buoy on dark water without letters or score badges. Eight screenshots cover the hub pier, stage select, build phase on exposed rock, mid-wave combat, gull pressure, upgrade panel, late-stage defense, and clear summary — English HUD glyphs only, scattered for store policy. Hero, spotlight, and opaque App Store / Mac icons were recomposed with the same art direction. Full description now covers the tide clock, five coastal towers, crab skiff and gull roles, five themed stages, star unlocks, leaderboards, help, settings, and eight languages. Gameplay and save data are unchanged; this update is art and listing for store and tyttoot.com publish readiness.
